Binance customers withdrew a net $3.64 billion in assets when the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange reopened on Sunday, after a record hack last week, the BBC reported. The exchange said it processed $4.649 billion in withdrawals and $1.01 billion in deposits between 06:00 and 15:30 GMT on November 1.

The company suspended all transactions after the incident, which affected $6.3 billion in digital assets. Binance said it has covered around 95% of the stolen assets and that the remaining amount may take longer to source. It has repeatedly said it will cover all losses linked to the attack.

The FBI has accused North Korea of responsibility for the attack. The BBC reported that the attack has been attributed to TraderTraitor, also known as the Lazarus Group. Binance said early checks suggest the incident may have started with a compromised laptop belonging to an engineer, which allowed hackers to make unauthorized transactions.

Binance said withdrawals of more than two dozen major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, have resumed. Other services will resume in phases after security checks are complete. Binance said its US-facing platform was not affected.
