General Motors reports third-quarter earnings Tuesday before market open, with Wall Street expecting relatively flat revenue compared to a year ago and adjusted earnings per share up roughly 30%, according to average estimates compiled by LSEG.

GM's 2025 third-quarter results included $48.59 billion in revenue, net income of $1.3 billion, and adjusted earnings per share of $2.80.

Investors will focus on whether GM raises its 2026 guidance. The company raised its 2026 forecast when reporting second-quarter results to include adjusted earnings before interest and taxes between $14 billion and $16 billion, or adjusted EPS between $12 and $14. Its adjusted automotive free cash flow forecast sits between $9.5 billion and $11.5 billion.

Wall Street analysts hold mixed views on a potential Tuesday guidance increase. GM has regularly raised guidance during the year, but concerns over slowing sales and rising commodity costs may weigh on any announcement.

JPMorgan analyst Rajat Gupta said in an Oct. 11 investor note that "while we expect in-line to slightly better 3Q26 prints, investor focus is likely to be on 2027 revisions and we don't see results driving meaningful upside."

Investors will also watch for updates on GM's launch of redesigned full-size pickup trucks, warranty improvements, and any notable growth in the company's software and service operations. Wall Street expects 2027 will be difficult for the U.S. automotive industry overall.
